FOTR Complete Recordings

I just discovered this, which is being released on December 13: The Fellowship of the Ring: The Complete Recordings. “Released for the first time on CD, the complete score for the first film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy contains more than 180 minutes of music on three CDs plus a DVD-Audio disc of the entire score in Surround Sound.” I am so getting this. I imagine the complete recordings for the other two films are forthcoming.

  1. Right… and you’re going to get around to listening to it when? After you finish watching all the additional discs in the extended LOTR DVD sets? After you watch all the episode of the TV series you’ve bought on DVD? etc… ;)

  2. I have watched every single extra feature on all the extended-edition LOTR DVD’s, and I own all the soundtrack CD’s. This new version actually sounds like a bit of overkill, even to me, but…maybe not. It’s certainly expensive. Meantime, why the heck isn’t there a commercial recording available of Howard Shore’s LOTR symphony?
