Blogger’s block.
Fellow bloggers, do you ever feel like you can’t put two words together to write a good blog entry?
Two types of blog entries I could write today:
(1) Job-search issues, life-goal issues.
(2) Pithy, witty observations based on micro-events in my life.
In other words:
(1) The serious.
(2) The light-hearted.
In other words, I could use this space to:
(1) Vent and express my frustrations.
(2) Entertain my readers and make them think I’m funny and witty.
This is what happens when you think too much before blogging.
For example,
I could write a serious suggestion: have you thought about what historical topic to write your book about?
Or I could make a tired joke: Post naked pictures!!!!! Yaaaaaaay.
You decide.
I usually think about whether I should post:
A well organized, lengthy and wordy convoluted post on some serious issue that no one cares about
OR
A long ranting disorganized convoluted mess of a post on some serious issue that no one cares about.
The only sure thing is that Andy will disagree with it. :)
I’m going on five years blogging, and the last year has been the toughest. Ironically, it was because I was employed. Other years have been easy–find something you have an opinion on and write about it.
Generally, my rule has always been: Don’t shy away from the darkness and difficulty. If you do that, you’ll just keep shying away until it breaks out somewhere else.
