This disgusts me and worries me. All these elderly Florida Jews who won’t vote for Obama because he’s black. I don’t know what bothers me more — those who are prejudiced, or those who are misinformed.
Come on, people. You’re retired. Pick up a goddamn newspaper.
He’s going to have to work hard to win Florida. Hopefully he can make it up by winning states like Colorado and Virginia.
It’s not just the old Jews in Florida. I’ve been sickened for months about all the articles and blog posts and email forwards and idiotic outbursts on message boards from Jews who should know better about how Obama would be “bad for the Jews” or “bad for Israel” without being able to provide a single bloody concerete and verifiable fact to support them. Even when that is pointed out, they are not dissuaded. Their “gut” tells them there’s something not right about Obama.
Fortunately, I don’t know many people who say they’ll switch to McCain (I do not and never would associate with a Jew who would vote Republican) but I’ve heard enough people say that unless Hillary wins the nomination they’ll abstain in November.
If Obama can get the U.S. out of Israel, he’s got my vote.
And before you all get your panties in a bunch, it’s not about the Jews. I just think that when a nation of 7 million messes with other countries averaging 75 million apiece, and then expects the U.S. to clean up their mess, something is wrong.
