Bush will not hold any more press conferences. Are you kidding me? On the one hand I have to hand it to the guy for recognizing his weaknesses. On the other hand… I never cease to be amazed that we’ve wound up with him in the White House.
But look at the contrast. Bill Clinton, six days after the Lewinsky scandal broke — a storm swirling around him, people calling on him to resign — went in front of the American people in his State of the Union Address and announced that we were going to use the surplus to Save Social Security First, proudly spitting in the face of the Republicans. The man had balls. But now, with George W. Bush… well, no more press conferences. What a joke.
