Save Bob Edwards

Save Bob Edwards!

Bob Edwards has been fired as host of NPR’s Morning Edition after almost 25 years, just because NPR wants to update the show’s format. Worse, he won’t be the host when the show’s 25th anniversary arrives next fall. Back when I had a car (and was up early enough), I’d listen to Bob Edwards’s laid-back, calm voice introduce the segments on his show, and I’d know that everything in the world was going to be all right. The man doesn’t deserve to be canned like this. Sign the petition if you feel the same.

  1. As they say: “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”

Bob Edwards has been that faithful voice from beyond expanding our small enviorons.

We like him. We trust him. Please keep him.

  2. I can only agree with the previous statements.”If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I have listened to Bob Edwards since his NPR birth; his voice is the first thing I hear in the morning, always soothing and informative, If the NPR management thinks dumping Bob Edwards is helping the listenership, they are wrong. I’ agin it!

  3. Bob Edwards. He is the reason I got hooked on NPR. I trust him. I am informed by him. My world is organized by him. NPR is represented by him. If his moving on is fair, fine. If not fair is what the NPR stands for, so where does that put us?

  4. We really want to know what the REAL reason for firing Bob was.
It wasn’t for updating the format or any such vague reason was it?
