Just because: here’s the opening theme music to The Colbys, the 1985-87 Dynasty spinoff I recently mentioned. Note that the first few seconds are identical to the beginning of the Dynasty theme, but then it goes off in a completely different direction.

Wow…I actually like that better than the original DYNASTY theme. It reminds me of Bill Conti’s work for stuff like THE WEST WING and that NORTH AND SOUTH miniseries.
Actually, Jere, the West Wing theme was by W.G. Snuffy Walden.
I admit to loving Dynasty when it was on. The Colbys did nothing for me, partly because Fallon will always be Pamela Sue Martin to me.
