Short Posts

They seem to be under the impression that longer is better, that short, quick posts are somehow necessarily uncivilized, as though it’s a physical property of them. But blogs just don’t work like that. Often in the blog world, short and sweet is what’s required. Moreover, with the medium’s requirement that people post often (daily or more), long isn’t always possible.

I really want to blog more. I’ve been blogging less often lately because I want to be a good employee. I should write more short, quick posts – better than nothing at all.

  1. Right now, I wish I had time to read more blogs. Fortunately, I’m not always planning transcontinental moves. And I’ll be unemployed shortly! So hopefully I can catch up on what’s going on. I miss writing political stuff, too, but you have to REALLY know what you’re talking about, and lately all I have time for is headline-skimming. That and taking pictures of my cats.

  2. I wish I could get the hang of the whole blogging thing. I’ve had the same trouble that I’ve had any time I’ve tried to keep a journal or diary: I’ll start out strong, then miss a day her or there and then I won’t write anything for months.

Leaving aside the fear that what I write may not actually be interesting to anyone else and the maddening inability to find readers…

I’m very impressed that you’ve kept the blog up for so long and have also managed to have a a real life outside of it. I don’t know how the big major-league bloggers do it.

  3. Amen….I never have time to update my blog period. I have lots of good thoughts, and no time to write…Good Job keeping yours updated for as long as you have!
