A little over a year from now, we have a good chance of having one of the following: the first black president (Obama), the first female president (Clinton), the first Mormon president (Romney), the oldest president to take office (McCain), the first Italian-American president (Giuliani), the first New York City mayor to become president (Giuliani).
Or it could be Huckabee or Thompson. (Don’t count him out in the South, especially in this unpredictable year.)
Huckabee wins I will be living in France and wishing you all good luck, not only do I not count him out, I think he will be the nomine.
Huck will win in South Carolina on the 19th, and do very well (I think) in Michigan on the 15th where he can find many like-minded folks. But the GOP regulars are concerned and using lots of resources to blunt and stop his chances.
I myself think that that he only has self-life of a couple more weeks. Super Tuesday will not be kind to him. He does not have the money or infastructure to compete on such a grand scale.
Does Edwards have no distinguishing features to be listed?
It doesn’t matter who wins. Why people just don’t understand this simple fact?
Um… because it’s not true?
Now you’ve got me curious: would Huckabee be the first (former) clergyman to win? I can’t think of another off the top of my head, but there could very well be one I’m missing.
Looks like James Garfield was a minister.
You’re so Google-licious. :-) Thanks.
