Wow! Things can change in a week. According to a new poll, 51% of Californians are in favor of same-sex marriage, while just 42% oppose it. A slight majority also opposes amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The pollsters found that the younger you are, the more likely you are to support marriage equality.
Just last week, a poll found that 54% of voters favored changing the state constitution. So this is good news.
Awesome! This is very encouraging. The tide is turning…
P.S. But of course we can’t sit back until November. I plan to politick about this with everyone within reach.
It’s called “people see that acceptance doesn’t bring about the second fall of Sodom and Gomorrah.”
No matter how much the ranting and raving over Massachusetts would have us think otherwise, it hasn’t broken off the continent and sunk into the Atlantic yet.
Has anyone polled how seriously people take polls? Or how many people lie on polls?
I vaguely remember reading that 94% of people polled think polls are made up…
Although that might have been dreamt…(and yet still accurate…)
Who sponsored the polls, and what specific questions did they ask? The wording of the questions (reflecting the bias of the poll sponsor) can make a significant difference in the reported results. And, of course, many “polls” are meant more to change opinions than to measure them.
If you want to be part of the polls, go to: http://www.pollingpoint.com
They will email you when they want your opinion (based on your personal demographics).
