A quote about blogs and bloggers:
It’s amazing that blogs even exist any more. Facebook and Twitter are the Fast Food Nation of thought. Who wouldn’t rather take 15 seconds to spout something off instead of the hours it takes to write a decent blog entry? Bloggers are the resistance, and before they get taken into custody in the name of Vapid Über Alles they need props while they’re still with us.

I read somewhere recently—I think on Andrew Sullivan’s blog or another one on The Atlantic’s site—that the blog posts that get the most hits now are the ones 1000-1200 words because they are more than a Tweet, but less than a really long article in a print publication.
As someone who used to blog a lot but hardly does anymore, I’m embarrassed to say I was looking for the “Like” link when I read that quote. :(
I don’t blog as much as I want to because I want to write things that are longer and more substantial than Facebook statuses (I still don’t “get” Twitter) but that takes energy and time, of which I never seem to have enough anymore.
